  • Henley on Toast

    Henley on Toast (September 2018)

Henley on Toast is a 4.1% ale, brewed at Brakspear’s Bell Street Brewery in Henley by head brewer Malcolm Mayo. The recipe, created in collaboration with Toast, uses surplus bread from Lawlor’s bakery in Henley, together with pale, Cara and crystal malts, and a portion of oats.  As well as Bramling Cross and Amarillo hops, Cascade is added as a late hop, alongside sliced oranges. The result is a rich auburn ale with tart bitterness and a hint of citrussy zest.

Currently available at the Angel on the Bridge and Bull on Bell Street in Henley, the Duke of Wellington in Twyford and the King William in Hailey. If you're visiting the pub espeically for the beer, please call ahead to avoid disappointment. It will also be on at Henley Rugby Club's beer festival on Satursday 22nd Septemeber 2018.

  • Hooray Harry

Hooray Harry (April - May 2018)

Brewed using British pale and roasted malts which give it, appropriately, a ‘rusty red’ colour. The beer is also a marriage of British and American hops including the popular Amarillo and Cascade varieties, which lend it the citrussy notes associated with beers from the USA, while British-grown Jester hops bring intense, punchy aromas – and, as its name suggests, a sense of humour!

  • Henley Pale Ale, 3.9%

Henley Pale Ale, 3.9% (August & September 2018)

It's back by popular demand, the Bell St Brewery's first pale ale. Henley Pale Ale is an easy drinking, 3.9% ABV ale which is light in colour and has an array of flavours. Brewed using an original recipe with Brambling Cross and Goldings Hops, Henley Pale Ale is the perfect ale to be enjoyed in the sunshine.

  • BRAKSPEAR SPECIAL, 4.3%

    BRAKSPEAR SPECIAL, 4.3% (Continuous)

We'll be brewing up to four barrels a week, which equates to over 1,100 pints. This beer has been brewed by Brakspear for over 40 years, and we're following the original recipe.

A truly classic English beer that’s golden red in colour with a well balanced aroma and a hint of sweetness. Full bodied, the initial sweetness gives way to a dry hop bitterness.
