  • Writer's Block

    Writer's Block (September 2019)

We're delighted to partner with the Henley Literary Festival this year to brew them their very own beer. This 4.6% ABV rich, red ale is brewed with Amarillo and Jester Hops and Carared Malt. 10p from every pint goes to support the Festival too, so a jolly good reason to enjoy a pint, though we can't guarantee it will give you creative inspiration for your literary masterpiece, but a pint can't hurt can it? • Rhuby

    Rhuby (June 2019)

Our first rhubarb ale - brewed especially for the Eat Henley Food Festival 15th to 29th June 2019

We’ve used a blend of pale, special roasted Cara malt and malted Oats, to give a pale gold colour with a red tinge. We’ve used Bramling Cross hops in the copper for bitterness with a late hop addition of Cascade and Amarillo for aroma. The fresh rhubarb was added after the boil for a subtle flavour.

The brewers grains go to Pete Holmes who runs a mobile farm for schools / children.  see for full details.

  • Brakspear Old 4.3%

Brakspear Old 4.3% (AVAILABLE ALL THE TIME)

After being asked by a CAMRA member at the Great British Beer Festival in August 2014, would we ever brew Brakspear old again, we thought why the heck not. It's a 4.3% ABV ale brewed with pale Maris Otter, Crystal and Black malts and Fuggles, Pilgrim and Styrian Goldings hops. It is amber brown in colour and has a rich, caramel taste. Ok, it's no secret, it's Brakspear Special with caramel in it, and it's darn tasty.

BRAKSPEAR SPECIAL, 4.3% (Available all the time!)

We'll be brewing up to four barrels a week, which equates to over 1,100 pints. This beer has been brewed by Brakspear for over 40 years, and we're following the original recipe.

A truly classic English beer that’s golden red in colour with a well balanced aroma and a hint of sweetness. Full bodied, the initial sweetness gives way to a dry hop bitterness.
